Shopify B2B - Companies, Locations & payment terms

Quote for Shopify B2B - Companies, Locations, and payment terms

QuotWay works with Shopify’s own B2B model - Companies, Locations, and contacts - and applies payment terms when an accepted quote becomes a Shopify draft order. It detects whether your store has B2B enabled and adapts per quote, so you can also quote non-Plus wholesale buyers on the same store.

Built for Shopify’s own B2B model - not a parallel system

QuotWay quotes against Shopify’s native B2B structure - Companies, Locations, and contacts - instead of inventing a separate customer model. When a buyer arrives with a Company context, QuotWay reads it from Shopify, ties the quote to the right Company and Location, and writes the accepted quote back as a real Shopify draft order.

  • One model, no duplication - the quote references your Shopify Company and Location, not a copy
  • The accepted quote becomes a native Shopify draft order, so invoicing and fulfillment stay in Shopify
  • An append-only event log records every B2B quote from request to order - useful for approvals and audits

Mode B · Enterprise + B2B-capable store

Works with Companies, Locations, and contacts

When your store has B2B enabled and a buyer is shopping as a Company contact, QuotWay quotes in Mode B - the company-aware mode. The quote attaches to the buyer’s Company and Location, so the right pricing, contacts, and terms travel with it. Mode B is on the Enterprise plan and requires a B2B-capable store.

  • Quotes tie to the buyer’s Shopify Company and Company Location, captured from the signed B2B context
  • Company contacts can request, negotiate, and accept - and route through their organization’s approval chain
  • Buyer-organization approval workflows (Professional+) and advanced routing (Enterprise) govern who signs off
  • Tax-exempt and location-specific handling follow the Company Location, not a separate QuotWay setting

Payment terms applied on conversion

When you convert an accepted Mode-B quote into a Shopify draft order, QuotWay applies the buyer’s Shopify payment terms - so Net 30, Net 60, or due-on-receipt carries through to the order the buyer pays against. QuotWay reads and applies Shopify’s payment terms; it isn’t a standalone net-terms or credit product.

  • Net terms (Net 30, Net 60, custom) and due-on-receipt flow onto the draft order at conversion
  • Negotiated line prices are locked in at conversion; drift detection re-checks tax and shipping first
  • Payment-terms support is capability-based - it needs a store with B2B enabled, on the Enterprise plan
  • The buyer pays in Shopify; you keep one record from quote to paid order

Show quoting to the right companies and locations

Targeting rules decide which buyers see quoting and hidden prices. For native B2B, you can target by Company and Company Location so a specific organization - or one of its locations - sees “Request a quote” instead of “Add to cart.”

  • Company / Company Location targeting - Professional+
  • Customer-segment targeting (Shopify segments) - Starter+
  • Customer, customer tag, logged-in / guest targeting - all plans, including the free Lite plan
  • Hide price and swap “Add to cart” for “Request a quote” for the buyers you target - Starter+

Detects your store’s B2B capability automatically

QuotWay detects whether your store supports Shopify B2B and adapts per quote - it checks for B2B capability, not for the Shopify Plus plan. Since Shopify’s 2026 rollout extended Companies and payment terms beyond Plus, B2B is available on Basic, Grow, and Advanced stores with B2B enabled - so QuotWay works for B2B on non-Plus stores, not only on Plus.

  • If your store has B2B enabled, company-aware quoting (Mode B) and payment terms are available on Enterprise - whether you’re on Plus or a non-Plus plan with B2B turned on
  • If your store doesn’t run native B2B, QuotWay quotes in Mode A - non-Plus wholesale and DTC, fully supported on every plan: tag- and segment-based targeting, hide price (Starter+), guest quoting, and a hosted buyer portal with magic-link access
  • A single store can serve both modes at once - quote your Companies and your tag-based wholesale buyers side by side, no separate setup
  • Detection is automatic per quote - there’s no “are you on Plus?” toggle to get wrong

Two modes, one app - pick what your store supports

Most stores can start in Mode A today - even on the free Lite plan - and add Mode B when they move to native Shopify B2B on the Enterprise plan. QuotWay handles the switch per quote, so you don’t have to migrate anything to grow into Companies and payment terms.

Questions, answered

Does QuotWay require Shopify Plus for B2B?

No. Shopify B2B - Companies and payment terms - is capability-based, not Plus-exclusive. Since Shopify’s 2026 rollout, B2B extends to Basic, Grow, and Advanced stores with B2B enabled, and QuotWay detects that B2B capability rather than the Plus plan. QuotWay works for B2B on non-Plus stores that have B2B turned on, and it fully supports non-Plus wholesale even when native B2B isn’t enabled.

What does QuotWay do with Shopify Companies and Locations?

QuotWay quotes against your native Shopify Companies, Locations, and contacts (this is “Mode B”). A quote attaches to the buyer’s Company and Company Location, company contacts can request and negotiate, and the accepted quote converts to a real Shopify draft order. Mode B is on the Enterprise plan and requires a B2B-capable store.

Can QuotWay apply payment terms like Net 30 to a B2B order?

Yes. When you convert an accepted Mode-B quote, QuotWay applies the buyer’s Shopify payment terms - such as Net 30 or Net 60 - to the resulting Shopify draft order. QuotWay reads and applies Shopify’s payment terms rather than acting as a standalone net-terms or credit product; this is available on the Enterprise plan with a B2B-capable store.

Can I sell wholesale on Shopify without Plus using QuotWay?

Yes. QuotWay supports non-Plus wholesale and DTC on every plan, including the free Lite plan. You can hide prices (Starter+), target wholesale buyers by customer, tag, or segment, let guests request quotes, and give buyers a hosted portal - no Shopify Plus and no native B2B required.
